2018 ISAF Sailing World Championships, Franka Abrahamsen, Head of project organization, news, World Championship

The partners of the organizing committee ISAF Worlds 2018 Aarhus have appointed Ms. Franka Abrahamsen as head of the project organizing of the 2018 ISAF Worlds which are to be hosted in Aarhus, Denmark.

Franka Abrahamsen has broad experience with organizing events and has immense event and project management skills. Throughout her career, she has worked with urban development through events and she has been heading several sports and cultural events.

As managing director of Creative LineUp she brings along vast experience in working with both the private and the public sector in regards to developing and gathering support to events. Franka was the founder of Copenhagen Volunteers and thus has extensive understanding of working with volunteers.

Her experiences with managing event, destination development and working with volunteers will create a memorable and successful ISAF Worlds 2018 in Aarhus” says Jørn Sønderkjær Christensen, Event Director, Aarhus Events and Chairman of the Steering Committee for ISAF Worlds 2018 Aarhus.

Thomas Capitani, CEO of Sailing Aarhus and Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee of ISAF Worlds 2018 Aarhus agrees “We are looking forward to working with Franka. Her thorough experience combined with Danish sailing community’s expertise in running international sailing events will result the most spectacular sailing event ever”.

Franka Abrahamsen will begin her new job on September 15, 2015. She will be based in Aarhus together with Aarhus Events and Sailing Aarhus.
